Re: Friday July 20 - D-Day for Perriman

I think Perriman has had some off the field stuff take his mind off of the game. He had the season ending knee injury that wasn't supposed to be season ending, his best friend on the team died in a bike accident and then his dad suffered a major illness that almost killed him. He has been through a lot. I think he needs a fresh start somewhere else, where the memories of those terrible things dont haunt him and he doesnt have the expectation of being the savior at WR. Baltimore ain't for him no more.

Good point. Stress can be a major derailment for anyone. Maybe a fresh start is all he needs.

Can we just pay him the 650 to leave?

Yeah, his mental toughness has been in question. Not saying that it's necessarily deserved, because as you mentioned, he's been through a lot. He's just never been a guy with that alpha attitude and his times here certainly haven't helped. He's a guy that needs a change of scenery because it's just not going to happen here. I think the Ravens would actually be doing him a favor by declining his option, because that gives him a chance to latch on elsewhere for camp and learn the playbook.

Why pay him a dime to leave? Just let him go. No payment required
