    OT - I'm a published author!

Hey friends, after five years of long work, I have finished my book. It is an interactive book about monsters, available on iTunes Book store, I recommend using an iPad.

The book is centered around a world I created using real world mapping techniques. I even used some tricks NASA uses to create the topography. It is geared towards the Harry Potter/Lord of the Rings crowd, but it is something adults can read with their kid as it is interactive.

A megaton. Funny thing though, now being an expert at it, I find I could build similar for others on a variety of topics. Might even be a new revenue stream.

Sincere congratulations. Some well-meaning advice from another published author: the SECOND one is the hard one. Keep at it. It's a JOB, not (USUALLY) a hobby.
Not much really matters, and the rest doesn't matter at all.

I am in the process of doing book II actually. That and marketing. It isn't easy when it is an interactive book only available through Apple iTunes Books. Digging up reviewers and the like plus getting small advertising is a challenge.

But I agree, the second book is paramount, I even told myself regardless of book I sells, there must be a book II. Flipside five years of the process was learning HTML5, 3D rendering, an a host of other skills I didn't have when I started. So, in theory, book II should take far less time. I mean a lot less time. I have most of the story done, it is stitching things together because interactive books obviously do not work like regular books.

Plus, a picture is worth a 1,000 words! Good thing I draw fast!

But thanks again, every prop gets me closer to the dream.

I self published comic books for about 20 years. It's a great feeling.
