The elites in Washington (Pelosi, Harris, Schumer, etc) and the elites in Hollywood (Maher, Reiner, DeNiro, etc) are clearly not on the same page as middle class America. They are pretty open about it too - open borders, taxes, wishing for a recession, spark of divinity, etc.

The majority of people living in this county care more about policies than anything else. The country is flourishing and the tactics of smearing with porn stars, whataboutism, racism, sexism, etc aren't working anymore because no one cares. The populous is hip to these political tricks. The more they sling mud at "success," the more it turns people off.

Thought I do not like Trump at all, I will say that attacking him is becoming frustrating. Criticize, sure. But the constant attacks at everything he does have become tiresome and are just counterproductive.

Very well put. I couldn't stand him till the debates started. He one by one destroyed 16 other guys. He really grew on me in the process.

I follow it closely, but Trump's personality and tactics don't fly up here. Even our righties don't like Trump. My grandpa is a true Conservative in the Canadian context and he can't stand Trump.

Like I said, I don't like him, but I also don't like unproductive politics. I got into several arguments during the #NotMyPresident movement.

That's not democracy and if we don't believe in democracy at its very core (i.e. cast your vote and accept the outcome) than we are fucked as a society. People didn't seem to get that. So I wouldn't have voted for Trump (Libertarian for me), BUT he won. He's the President. I'll criticize him and give him credit when he does things well. That's how politics work.

Butt-hurt non-stop BS is not productive for society or for causing change. I find that there's a lot less of the non-stop bashing of the othe side in Canada, but our spectrum is much more narrow than the US, so I think that makes an obvious difference. Not a criticism of the US..just a fact.

Naturally, most people living outside of the United States don't like Trump. Unlike his predecessor, he puts American interests first. He's also not a socialist, which doesn't fall in line with much of Europe and Canada.

i liked Ted Cruz also, was pulling for him early. Him and Ben Carson, though Dr Carson would not have been able to deal with the scrutiny of the MSM IMO. Cruz kinda pulled a fast one on Dr Ben Carson when he said that Ben had dropped out of the race. Then he started attacking Trump in the later debates, which he kind of had to do since the field was narrowing down. I remember him talking about DT's New York "attitude" or something like that, which I think cost Ted in the polls, but most knew what he meant. I think Ted Cruz had the best line in all the debates when he was talking about open borders and he said something to the effect that if all of the illegals coming in to the country, taking jobs from Americans, were writers, the MSM would have a different view of open borders. Do any of you think Ted Cruz would have beaten Hillary in the General election? I do know one thing, I hated John Kasich (sorry Cincy). i thought he should have run Democratic.
