Re: The Video Game Thread
Oh god dammit.
I get home and realize I got the Elder Scrolls Online...not Skyrim.
No returns either. :-/

Re: The Video Game Thread
I built it. It's a couple years old but I upgrade pretty consistently.
Framemeister is a device that converts your old consoles to an HDMI input and upscales them. Older consoles generally look pretty bad on new TVs, this fixes that. I heard it described once as a CRT TV in a box and that's pretty accurate.
TESO is awesome. Give it a try. It's honestly very similar to Skyrim, just with other people running around.back on twitter

FIFA is solid. I dont know why but I always liked soccer video games. Couldnt pay me to watch a game on TV though.

Re: The Video Game Thread
I used to love the NHL games on Sega Genesis.
I haven’t tried a hockey game on any of the newer consoles though I have been tempted.
I’m just not a huge hockey fan to begin with, so I don’t really have a team.

Re: The Video Game Thread
I got into the new NHL games a few years ago. They are about the same as EA's output in Madden and FIFA, solid enough games with their fair share of flaws.
If you have Xbox I highly recommend EA Access. It's $5 a month, you get a bunch of free EA games and they add more often. The current versions of NHL and NBA Live (which is actually quite good) are both on there now, for example. You also get a free 10 hours of play on pretty much everything they put out.back on twitter

NHL has so much potential, but they just haven't put work into it since they switched to the new gen consoles.
I've recently been playing NHL2k on my 360. It's unfrotuante how much better 2k as a company is than EA. EA really robbed the fans by monopolizing the licenses of NHL and NFL."Cause if you ain’t pissed off for greatness, that just means you’re okay with being mediocre, and ain’t no man in here okay with just basic.”

Re: The Video Game Thread
Anyone ever play city builders? I know I already mentioend it, but Cities: Skylines is a heck of a lot of fun.
One of those games I can get absorbed in and play for hours."Cause if you ain’t pissed off for greatness, that just means you’re okay with being mediocre, and ain’t no man in here okay with just basic.”

Re: The Video Game Thread
Yep. That's a genre I cut my gaming teeth on way back when with games like Caesar, SimCity and The Settlers. My two favorite recent ones are called Banished and Kingdoms and Castles. I put a lot of time into Cities also, as well as the flawed most recent SimCity game.
