but the first announcement, in addition to some graphic/physics stuff, was custom draft classes (Like in NBA2k). That gets me fired up for playing franchise mode, which I know you're into. If they're shareable like they are in 2k I'll be buying Madden this year for that alone. Other gamers put a stupid amount of time into 2k's series creating draft classes so you can actually draft real people as you go through your franchise mode. That level of realism would be so fun and keep the game fresh. Rather than drafting randoms and seeing draft classes with 3 1st round QB's from the same school (Legit - this happened to me last year. 2021 draft and there were three Texas quarterbacks with first round grades - like come on).
I hadn't heard that, but that would be awesome.

We did an RSR/Sunspot Madden league a few years ago...I think when XBox 360 just came out and it was a lot of fun.

    Re: The Video Game Thread

More Madden announcements yesterday. They did a blog focusing on MUT. I don't play MUT, but this was a fun addition that should apply to other modes as well:

In addition to the three major features we have built, there are a few other important things worth touching on. A good place to start is an addition that all of Madden will benefit from and that’s the inclusion of seven new specialist positions. In the lineup screen you will see some new options (in addition to 3rd Down Half Back) that will help you get the players you want in the right position on the field in specific formations:
    Rush Right/Left Defensive End
    Rush Defensive Tackle
    Slot Cornerback
    Sub Linebacker
    Power Half Back
    Slot Wide Receiver
I’ll save the deep dive for a future blog, but at a high level, these positions were created so that gameplay could tag formations with these new specialist positions. So for instance, instead of having to manually sub a defensive end down to defensive tackle out of Nickel, just assign that player to your Rush Defensive Tackle slot and he’ll already be there every time you call a Nickel defense.
This is big for me. I used ot hate doing sub formations. For example, in the Ravens 4-3 when you play a nickel defense you have to manually sub in Suggs as a DE because he's an OLB. You can now tag him with that rush specialist tag and he'll be there without you doing anything else. Slot WR is big. I used to manually edit (or make guys my 3rd WR) so they'd be in the slot (Did it a lot with Senior). Now it does it automatically wiht the tag. I love this feature.

How many guys did you have? I've never done an online league. I'm assuming if you don't have 32 guys the other teams are just CPU?

I think we had 6 or 7 doing it. It wasn't a lot of guys.

We did random team selection. I ended up with the Giants.

Yeah, you can have as many or as few people as you want. I did one a few years ago with just one buddy of mine. Everyone plays their games either against each other or against the CPU then the "commissioner" I believe advances the week. So we could do it with just a few people even.

I'm down for picking teams, random teams, or we could even get together on party chat or something and BS our way through a fantasy draft.
