Re: ANIMALS: Here’s How Unethical The Mainstream Media Really Are
I imagine this is probably similar to when it was discovered that the earth was indeed not flat.
I’m sure people argued day and night that the “conspiracy theorists” thought of the earth as round...while the “woke” people had their eyes open and saw the earth as flat.
IMO, it’s total madness.

Re: ANIMALS: Here’s How Unethical The Mainstream Media Really Are
I'm getting the vibe actually watching them on TV is radically different from written articles? Don't get me wrong, I see stuff with obvious bias both ways, though more left than right, reading political stuff, but otherwise it doesn't seem so crazy.

Re: ANIMALS: Here’s How Unethical The Mainstream Media Really Are
Well it wasnt all of them. It was also twitter accounts/headlines that led to mostly stories that did put it into context, later than reasonable. As i said from the beginning, i agreed it was poorly done and wrong, and hoped theyd apologize or clarify. They did, all but one, which no different than times fox has done the same. Youre right that its only fox thats big enough, or respected enough, to counter. Other conservative outlets do the same things, but theyre the only one on msm level/audience, which is why i consider them msm all the same (they are #1 after all).

So maybe the issue is... dont get news from twitter and its 140 characters or less, or dont read headlines and feel youre informed.
Its a lesson in how fast things travel and how divisive, and inaccurate, headline grabs can be even to the corresponding article. at the end of the day these major medias are not only bias, but trying to grab ratings, not just deliver the news. Thats been a disservice to us all.
As far as politifact or any of them, the reason i sarcastically did a "let me google that for you" which obviously didnt go over as intended, was because that information is out there, which was my point, if you wanted to know, youd know (which apparently you agree with). In this case, on a pulitzer winning website that breaks down the exact context and why its misleading or an outright lie (they distinguish between the two). I could have, and probably should have, simply posted tucker apologizing for poor journalism, hannity for pulling a number of syrian/iraq refugees out of thin air, or individually listed some of politifacts other most egregious findings. i didnt, mostly because i didnt have time to, but also because i think thats on the individual when thats the very topic being discussed, partisan news. I thought i addressed that, in my original post saying that.
All that said...
Heres an example from a little bit ago, simply made to anger and enrage their audience...
http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment...nt-planet.html
The problem. Completely out of context. It was made to appear as an insult when it was no different than "men are from mars, women from venus" and pointing out this exact topic of partisan politics and people staying in their bubble.
"If you watch Fox News, you are living on a different planet than you are if you, you know, listen to NPR," Obama said. "Still, if you’re somebody who only reads the editorial page of The New York Times, try glancing at the page of The Wall Street Journal once in a while. If you’re a fan of Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh, try reading a few columns on the Huffington Post website. It may make your blood boil; your mind may not be changed. But the practice of listening to opposing views is essential for effective citizenship. It is essential for our democracy."
I dont see that as any different, and that exact story was picked up by the blaze, daily wire, etc, all the same. The word nightly is getting tossed around here, but i dont think either side is that enbolden. Omitting stories, or reporting one side of any debatable issue happens daily, these more egregious examples arent as readily available, from my experience, or maybe that claim should be getting supported.-JAB
