Re: Ravens restructure Tony Jefferson's deal
Jefferson's contract will become another albatross unless he plays a lot better this year.
Fingers crossed that our new D-coordinator can help that happen.

Re: Ravens restructure Tony Jefferson's deal
Any center prospects or maybe they trade a dB or olb for a proven center who has a higher cap number. Unless this is some blockbuster trade I hate this. Especially for such an underperforming FA. They should be looking to do the opposite

Re: Ravens restructure Tony Jefferson's deal
Just what the Ravens need, another restructured deal.
Hopefully one of the first moves DeCosta makes taking over as GM is getting a new 'capologist'

Re: Ravens restructure Tony Jefferson's deal
Uggghhh...
"According to ESPN’s Jamison Hensley, Jefferson’s cap hit for the 2018 season is now $5.6 million, while his cap hit for the 2019 and 2020 seasons are $12.56 million and $11.65 million, respectively."
Jefferson better start playing out of his mind.

Win-now mode. They probably want Dez and dez has no other option but to sign with us. With LJ on the roster it could be more enticing for him.

Re: Ravens restructure Tony Jefferson's deal
I feel like Dez, Crabtree, Snead and Smokey would be one damn slow WR corp

Re: Ravens restructure Tony Jefferson's deal
Ridiculous. You got into this cap hell because of shit like this and you are going to keep doing it? Find other ways to free money up. There's no justifiable reason to have Tony Jefferson at a 12M cap hit.
I'm fairly sure this is just for draft picks...didn't something come out last week that said they didn't have enough cap to cover their drafted players?
The Dez ship has sailed.back on twitter

Re: Ravens restructure Tony Jefferson's deal
Nope they were in good enough shape if I understand Brian's analysis post-draft.
The Ravens currently have $8,664,512 in available Cap space, so once the team’s draft picks are signed, the team’s available Cap space will be reduced by $3,117,696, leaving the team with $5,546,816 in available Salary Cap space.
