He dominated in training camp and was well on the way to the starting job when he got injured. Coaches have always been high on him.

Elliott is improving every game. I hope he sticks around for a long while.

I agree Bc. When you have a chance to add a HoF talent at a reasonable cost in a position of need, you do it.

The fact that Thomas is still unemployed would seem to indicate that he is an EXTREME a-hole, even by NFL standards. Couldn't have known that going in, especially given that he had managed to play on the same team for nine years.

I think he would really excel at strong safety with a good free safety next to him but we've already got Clark of course.

That’s the kind of shit that will keep him out of the the Hall of Fame.

Have to admit I was wrong. I did not see Elliott staying healthy (knocking on wood here) nor did I see him playing as well as he has overall, and only going to get better. Happy I was wrong.

Big same. He’s aggressive out there.

He always just had to stay healthy. Dude is a baller. Personally I’d like to see us get a true free safety and start him at SS. Chuck hasn’t impressed me at all this year. Just wearing the green dot isn’t enough.

I’ve always been more of a Clark guy than an Elliott guy, but imo they compliment each other well. This defense just isn’t built for a “specialist” FS, it benefits from jack of all trade type safeties so we can be deceptive. It’s such an advantage, and it’s so great both DBs can rush the passer passably.

Anytime a 6th round pick can contribute the way Elliot has is a huge win.

His physicality and tackling says box safety. His ball skills and instincts say Free Safety. What's lacking is that coverage athleticism. That may be what is leading to the confusion.
This is what I wrote way back when.
