DeCosta on Orlando Brown: "The tape is what we go back to. The fact that we took him, the type of kid that he is, he's going to give us everything he has. We want players that are going to be invested in our program."

Combine aside, this kid’s tape shows a very good OT.

Orlando Brown answered the phone and said, "You're not kidding me, are you? Is this for real?" Newsome said Orlando Brown wrote him a note to talk about how special it would be to play for the Ravens.
    That is freakin awesome!

The tape was very good. I've also read a lot about all his struggles to get there. That's why the Combine thing is scary. Brown was also 450 pounds in 8th grade and has struggled with his weight his whole life. They got to keep him focused or it's all going to fall apart.

Can we please make sure he does NOT get free crabcakes for life?

Yeah but he has real physical limitations that athletes in the NFL will be able to take advantage of. He is going to need to get into much better shape. Maybe this motivates him but if the combine didn't not sure anything will.

450 pound 8th grader that made it to the NFL..Holy crap!

It's probably safe to assume he has his eating habits under control by now.

LMAO, his draft profile: “has the athleticism of a baked potato.”

He's going to be line up against defensive ends who are much more athletic, faster, and stronger than he is, and he doesn't strike me as a guy who is going to master in the technique area. That scares me.

Re: Welcome to Baltimore Orlando Brown

I am just as concerned as anyone about his combine performance, his apparent lack of athleticism, and his implied lack of responsibility/desire/professionalism. That said, the guy played his butt off in college. So, can anyone explain to me how he was able to be so dominant on that level with a supposed complete lack of athleticism and heart? I get that he's big, but being big isn't enough to be a 2 x all big 12 linemen. So, how was he so good? He must have some positive qualities besides size, right?

I actually wouldn't mind that. Oher started our well @ RT, then got moved around and he faltered. With Stanley I'd anchor O. Brown to RT and maybe he will make us proud... Bc
