Just a thought. If Joe really wants Dez..maybe Oz and Co. sit him down and suggest he agree to a slight pay cut to afford Dez. Now I’m sure the Ravens would have to have a lock from Dez he’d sign here for X dollars for Joe to consider it. But to my knowledge Joe’s never been approached about a “pay cut”.

I dont know...seems like Joe probably doesn't really care that much about the money. I'm just speculating though.
An argument could be made that the attributes you've described match those of frugal people in general, who are known for their reluctance for giving up what they've already earned. The fact that one doesn't have expensive tastes doesn't mean they don't care much about the money. But none of us really know what Joe's thoughts are. I simply tend toward the more pessimistic view. You see, I have a pessimistic nature...

The comparison makes sense but Boldin was probably more versatile as a receiver than Dez Bryant .

My guess - and admittedly it's only a guess - is that Joe won't agree to any straight pay cut unless he feels his job is otherwise in danger. Frankly, I wouldn't blame him.
Brady has done it. Manning did it. I mean it’s not unheard of. If Joe has the want to win another Super Bowl and thinks Dez and the new toys could help do that ...maybe he does. ?? Who knows.

I suppose anything's possible. But I have a hard time envisioning Joe Linta saying to Flacco, "Sure Joe, give up a few of those millions; it'll surely help your career long term". If anything, he's going to advise Flacco to do the opposite and continue to feather his nest while he can. Bringing aboard Dez Bryant doesn't guarantee you a Super Bowl, or even a playoff berth. But those millions of dollars ARE guaranteed in 2018 unless Flacco voluntarily gives some of them up.

I said in my first post about Dez that he still fights for the ball, there is no denying that. And part of his regression last year was just the regression of their entire offense and Dak. Keep in mind their stud RB missed several games as well and Dak was checking down to Whitten a lot.

Bring on Dez and draft Oline in the first. Why not?

My understanding is that brady is making more money total then he would have previously. Im no cap expert but "restuctures" that ultimately favor the player arent hard to get done

I remember saying during last year, that theyd address the WRs, similar to how they addressed the DBs last offseason. They actually did more than I expected with this complete "reset". Dez, Snead, whoever else we bring in... Im pretty happy with who they went after and what we ended up with so far. Have to remember it takes two to tango, and theyre not finished.

Exactly. Brady has restructured his deal several times to give more cap room to the Pats. But he doesn't take a pay cut..often times he gets a pay raise out of the deal. It's all about moving the numbers around.

Right now this group isn't any better then last year for me. If they get Dez and go get WR/TE in the draft that changes things drastically but is Wallace + Maclin that much different then Brown + Crabtree? Maybe I'm just not as high on Brown as our number two as y'all I dunno

    That's what I'm saying.

Sign Dez. Take BPA in round-1.

    Take OL/WR/RB/TE in round's 2-4.
