I know. I'm sure Mattis already has a plan.

What did he think would've been justified, a nuclear attack?

Syria is complicated. Assad is a opressive dictator, but he also is actively fighting against Islamic extremists which we dislike as a nation due to our concerns over a small religious state we decided should exist after WWII

classic case of the US being in too many places for no reason

    Why?

Here's the thing that I can't wrap my head around. Putin wont let the UN inspect to see who is responsible for the chemical attack. To me, that is an admission of guilt. Even if he thinks the UN will "plant something" or "lie about something" in order to justify the bombing raid...his people can work with the UN to make sure that doesn't happen.

Regardless, what does the US get out of this?

He wants to know the truth! So do I!

    Really, what is the point?

I think we should get the hell out of Syria. It sounds like the POTUS wants to as well.

Damn right we should get out of Syria. Because regime change has worked so well every time we've tired it. Trump campaigned being against the "Bush doctrine". Yet, he has bombed Syria twice now. Could it be, it doesn't matter who is POTUS? Because it appears the establishment always wins.

It seems that way doesn't it.
