I agree we need to ignore Snead but why add the dead money to the cap when Perriman can simply be benched / a healthy scratch? He has, what, 2-3 Million in salary that would be immediately added if they flat out cut him.

If the Ravens cut Perriman they save $1.6M in cap space. That the difference between the $2.7M he would earn and the $1.1M dead money they would carry for dropping him. Plus, if he's not going to play he's just taking up a roster spot for someone who can.

I read somewhere that it wouldn't because he was an undrafted free agent.

SCR, that is a good point. I just don't know the $ ramifications of releasing Perriman. Perhaps the fan in me says, "I don't want this guy on my team anymore!" Maybe Ravor can let us know the cap con$equence... Bc

    Keep Perriman: 2.7M cap hit
Cut Perriman: 1.1M dead money, save 1.6M

Would signing Snead impact our comp pick calculation?

Personally I rather bring back Wallace and draft a WR in the 1st/2nd round.
No it wouldn't affect The Ravens comp pick calculation because Snead is restricted free agent not unrestricted free agent. That's atleast what I think is right so I could be wrong.

I don't think The Ravens cut Perriman before training camp.

Know what? I'd take the dead money hit for this useless WR and replace him with an unknown. Can another WR be as awful (?) considering he will be let go in 2019 anyway... Bc

Doesn't his salary due this year accelerate to the cap if he's cut?

There is no reason to, bring him to camp and let him compete.

That's what dead money is I think. If we cut him we'll still be charged 1.1M to our cap. But we'd save 1.6M.

I'm with Bc. I'd cut him and McClellan which saves us 2.8 and put it towards Snead.
