Democrats: Fight Anything Trump, Republicans Put Forward

Infrastructure spending isn't a partisan issue because it's about restoring American infrastructure. I mean, why would anyone oppose this? That's like favoring North Korea or not wanting the US to have a strong economy. Why would anyone who was elected to office be opposed to an infrastructure improvement agenda?

Well, Nancy "I wish my grandson wasn't white" Pelosi told her Democratic colleagues to prepare to aggressively fight the administration’s budget, its infrastructure plan and every one of its priorities in 2018.

I don't know how many Democrats or liberals peruse this forum, but I would be interested to hear what their thoughts are on something like this? Are Democrats trying to not win elections anymore? Are they putting all of their eggs in the "illegal immigrants will vote for us" strategy?

I'm not a fan of the GOP at all, but...Republicans at least are somewhat pretending to care whereas Democrats are literally doing NOTHING to help this country. This is where the DNC stands after "you know who" lead them for 8 years? They are mired in hate and incompetence and are ok with it.

Strange times indeed.

I've noticed that both parties will fight anything put forth from the other party unless it involves going to War. Its literally the only thing they agree on. The Dems seem to be taking the same approach that the GOP did under Obama. They are clearly trying to be obstructionists right now.

Trump and the GOP cant really blame the dems though, they have the majority and control the entire government right now. Anything they do or don't get done realistically is directly related to them getting their ish ish together

Agreed...to an extent. Opposing socialist healthcare and socialist principles in general is one thing. Openly opposing EVERYTHING before it even happens is another thing. This isn't politics as usual.

"We want Trump to fail" is the message of the Democratic Party and that message is not exclusive to Democrats. The majority almost doesn't matter with people like McCain and Graham having voting power.

I honestly thought an infrastructure bill would be the easiest legislation to push through because Democrats have been for it in the past. Now that Trump is POTUS, they oppose it. Again, they are doing NOTHING to help.

I’d have to agree it’s basically the same thing the GOP did when Obama was pres. atleast his first 2 terms before the power shifted to the GOP. Like it or not Trump has the GOP on a timeline. If they don’t and can’t deliver some if not a lot of his campaign promises ....the GOP will lose seats to the Dems. Sheeple will vote for the loudest empty drum in the room. Right now that is the Dems. They’ve held up the budget vote 2-3 times now. They completely blew the GOP out with the overturn of ObamaCare. So far the only thing Trumps GOP has gotten done is “tax reform” and well that bill benefits both parties. So that’s a draw. Clocks ticking. Mid terms are this Nov. If the Dems can posture till then...I’d bet they flip the Senate and close the gap in the House. Members (like Rav said) of the GOP are gonna help. The Hard Core , Good Ole Boy GOP don’t like Trump either. It’s starting to show.

Unfortunately, our elected officials don't care about what's best for the country, they only care about what's best for their party. The applies to the GOP and the DNC. Trump is still a bit of an enigma, as he's really not a true member of either party (although he is more alligned with the GOP).

The worst part of our politics is watching people defend their team. Like... We get it you're team is a smidge better than the other team. Why not hold true to ideals, principles and drop the team game?

That wouldn’t be be being a politician, that be being a statesman. Not as lucrative.

Yep, watching the dow last week was something else. Flipping between fox and msnbc (yes, I was their sole viewer) the narrative was amazing and on display.

Try flipping back and forth with regards to Pence and the Olympics. It's unbelievable how everyone tows their party line. There is no individual thought going on. Another is the comment about Trump wanting a parade for the military. I'd like to see someone from Fox News say that its a bad idea or someone from MSNBC to say it's a good idea just to break the cycle.
