Like you said before BC, the main issue was drafted wormley. I'm pretty confident bowser and Tim W will turn into pretty good players with the right coaching.

The issue was that we got too cute and We skipped on Kenny Golladay(many of us wanted), Kareem hunt, Dede Westbrook etc for wormley and that hurts.

I wanted Chris Godwin instead of Wormley, but I certainly like your list... Bc

Of course. In the summer Correa will compete for an ILB job. If he does not win it, he will revert to backup status with some ST role, or just get cut.

Everyone knows the Steelers want in their souls to have a butt-kickin' D, first - just as we do. It is fun these days to follow Steeler fan forums as they bemoan a continual failing on D.

From a Steeler fan yesterday:

“The Steelers have missed badly in recent drafts (not counting this year's class because it's too early to call) when drafting defensive players.

In the last five drafts they have selected 24 defensive players. NONE of them made any impact plays yesterday. In fact only 12 of them are currently on the roster including Spence who washed out due to injury and came back this year.

Here's some of the premium picks that were big time swings and misses:

2012/ 3rd round/ ILB Sean Spence- injury led to this being a wasted pick
2013/ 1st round/ OLB Jarvis Jones- huge bust
2013/ 4th round/ S Shamarko Thomas- huge bust
2014/ 1st round/ ILB Ryan Shazier- injury led to this being a wasted pick
2014/ 2nd round/ DE Stephon Tuitt- maybe injured but invisible much of the year
2015/ 1st round/ OLB Bud Dupree- maybe injured but invisible much of the year
2015/ 2nd round/ CB Senquez Golson- huge bust
2016/ 1st round/ CB Artie Burns- still early but doesn't look very good

I put both Spence and Shazier on this list to show the impact of injuries in the draft strategies. The Spence injury led to that pick being wasted which led to spending more draft capital on Shazier. The Shazier injury will lead to spending more draft capital on ILB this year. Not necessarily the Steelers fault, but that is why they are wasted picks.

Same thing at the positions of OLB, CB, and safety. Missing with these picks led to chasing these positions over and over. Lack of quality players at these position led to yesterday's humiliating defensive performance.

They need to get better scouts for the defensive side of the ball.”

Sound familiar? In comparison, I would say Ozzie is better than Colbert at drafting for D. Colbert's weakness could be a death-knell for the Ben-era window because the Steelers have so many $$ tied up on the offense. Colbert has been ineffective in FA (Mitchell) and must succeed in the draft to bolster his D.

The clock is ticking away in Pittsburgh. Ozzie's D is getting younger.....

Did you know he played more than 1 out of every 10 snaps on defense? He flashed quick twitch and had some hurries in those limited snaps. Thats what he was drafted for, and it showed, imo.

I'm glad to see you at least admit our offense is shit instead of just looking at the month of december and ignoring the previous 3 months like the rest of your FWO do.

No they don't. That's the whole point of our outcry. The offense is shit, but it was designed to be that way, yet expected to be more. We just acknowledge that there are legitimate reasons why it is shit.

Do we really need to go through the numbers of the offenses that actually won the Super Bowl?

Did people here forget how we 'actually' won the Super Bowl in 2012? It was not the same way we won it in 2000 and it was not the way the Seahawks or Broncos won it. That 2012 defense wouldn't even make the top ten of all-time Ravens defenses. They needed every last one of those 11 TDs. If they won the way that people want to 'think' they did, they wouldn't have needed half of those.

I expect big things from both. I think they both flashed exactly what we expect from them going forward. Bringing them a long slow, is what people wish we did with Correa. Guess well see if results vary. I still think Correa can bounce back, personally.

Maybe if they move him outside. Even his mom is making fun of the Ravens for putting him at ILB.
