    Jerry Jones vs Goodell

This story keeps getting more interesting after JJ tried to stop Goodell's contract extension. Quite a few owners got upset with him and he's going rogue. Letters are flying, tempers are up, and stuff is getting leaked. In the middle of the season.

He is but I think in the long run it will be better for the league. Goddell has to much power. And it is not fair to the players for him to be judge, jury, executioner, and appeals judge. It has been an issue for several years now but JJ didn't give a fuck until it took his best player off the field. When it was happening to Pittsburgh, NE, etc., it was just good business.

He’s just asking that all owners vote on the contract.
That’s a reasonable ask in my opinion

In a way yes, but in a way no. The decision to suspend Zeke is absolutely insane, the women heading the investigation for the NFL even said he shouldn't be suspended. He is still trying to save face for Rice.

But I think it also has to deal with the fact that Goodell didn't handle the anthem issue well, in his eyes, which in turn hurt the business.

I think the NFL needs some changes in the way their product is delivered and the fact they haven't done this sooner blows my mind. Goodell wants 50 mill a year, to do what? Your telling me they could find someone that would do a better job for cheaper, I just don't buy it.

To paraphrase Bomani Jones: rich people don't fight with their fists. They use lawyers.

Jerry was all for Goodell when the Pats were getting hammered.

now that its affecting his Cowboys, hes completely against it.

Jerry is about Jerry. Always has been, always will be. The fact is Elliot deserved to be suspended for the shit he was doing/did. was it a pure cut case of DV? no. Thats not all that he did though, there was a laundry list that was just the biggest offense. the dude needed his hand slapped and jerry wasnt doing it because it affected Jerry. Hes trying to put himself in the class of Rooney and Hunt and fighting for whats right, but hes simply not. Hes not fighting for the league, hes not fighting for whats right, hes fighting for the cowboys, hes fighting for himself. Im fine with him trying to get something to go the cowboys favor, but to go "all out war" over something petty, is where hes crossing the line, imo.

They all agreed to an executive compensation committee. Jones should have tried to change the rules before that committee started. You can’t change them after they made their decision because you disagree with their conclusion. Or, if you feel that strongly, get yourself on the committee so your interests are represented.
