    Re: The Movies/TV thread

Watching Mission Impossible. I think this is somewhere on the list of my all time favorite movies. Not super high but itís on there. Too bad the sequels went in so much more of an action direction. They are still good but not as good imo.

20$ seems perfectly reasonable for renting cinema movies in the comfort of your home.

I definitely would have paid 20 to see:
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
    The Gentleman
    Ad Astra
    Knives Out

Definitely not spending any extra money right now with this bullshit going on. My wife is out of work. Her idiot boss called today stating if they re open they will have to take paycuts.

    Just ridiculous
    What does she do?

As an alternative to going to the theater? Absolutely. Would spend that on tickets alone for my wife and I.

Exactly. Even just for myself a ticket and a large soda (gotta cut back on Dr pepper) is just around 20 if jot more and usually I cave and get something random. I think this should be something they continue to offer but I could certain movies not allowing it

ITT said above that Once Upon A Time in Hollywood was $20 to rent

Then it was said that Amazon has it for $3

That's the issue I have with it. Direct TV charging $17 more for the exact same movie rental.

I'm spoiled because I havent had to pay to watch a movie in a very long time. Was assistant manager at local movie theater 15 years ago and still get in free. :) But our prices for admission were only $4 for adults and $2 for kids. Matinees were $2 each. It's up to $6 and $3 now I believe. So $20 is a bit much for me to spend on a movie.

Itís $40 or so for me and my wife each time we go to the theater between tickets, popcorn, and drinks, so Iíll definitely pay the $20 to watch stuff if they put more theatrical releases out on digital.

Weíll see what happens, my friends back in CA donít think everything is going to go right to digital, they say there is going to be literally nothing coming out this summer. Everything is going to get pushed to fall/winter or next year. There may be some exceptions to that like Black Widow possibly going to Disney+ so they can make some cash.

That's definitely understandable, especially when you can save the $20 from concessions at home and have more options. Again, I've been spoiled the past 20 years. Lol.
