Re: OT - The Movies/TV thread

Someone called Deadpool and Wolverine the "WWE Royal Rumble of the MCU" and I've never heard something more accurate. And that's fine. It's fuckin' awesome for it.

Funny that the most notable Romanian actor in Hollywood is already in the MCU, Sebastian Stan. Not that he has a voice that works for Doom.

Vikings was good to a point. The horseshit of women fighting better than men was a bit much.

Also, they completely blew the true story of Ivar the Boneless, he did not die the way they depicted but was a warlord based out of Dublin.

I get there is stretching history, but that one I couldn’t abide.

My opinion on who could play Doom.

Kevin Durand. Canadian, but he has weird accent. He is bigger and kind of menacing looking and is a better actor than he gets credit for.

Michael Shannon (Great choice by Captain SIlver). Phenominal actor, iconic voice.

John Ham. Looks the part and is a decent actor.

Christian Bale. Great actor, imagine a half version of American Psycho as Dr Doom.

Oh, and the wife? Yeah, she's....

    Anyhoo.

Heavy, dark, oppressive, and dirty.....but I liked it.

Best thing on TV? The Mayor of Kingstown. I put it above Yellowstone as, to me 25% of Yellowstones episodes can be a bit of a drag, boring. Kingstown never lets up. It is relentless.
I get it, not for everyone, took awhile to get going.

Mayor of Kingstown is esisly the best out there at the moment. Didn't even realize S3 was out. Yellowstone is one of the few shows I just stopped watching, so good early on but dman, how much can way family get away with over and over. Just got too repetitive

I guess I never mention it, but yeah, I definitely loved that movie. Not for everyone by any means but it's my kind of movie to be sure haha
