I would say probably in order to fully understand everything. This new one is a prequel and shows Dexter and his family in a younger era.

If you have never watched Dexter, I urge you to begin immediately. Its a truly awesome show. The show is based on police foresics guy who is a serial killer who hunts down and kills other killers in order to satisfy his homicidal urges.

The show is really good.

I've watched season 1. I was wondering if I need to watch season 2 in order to follow the prequel.

No not really


new series is just showing Dexter with his stepfather still alive, him getting hired with Miami metro and his life leading up to what he becomes.


They did a phenominal job with the casting. Its got a great 90s sound track
