Things are being done about it. To say people aren't acknowledging that people get killed in our streets is just plain ignorant, not saying police shootings aren't an issue, but a lot more black people are dying by other black people in inner city crimes than being shot by cops and its not even close. Its like when people talk about rape/incest in abortion cases: it represents such a small percentage its not even close to being the norm, but is treated like the rule of average.

The witch hunt by ESPN going after the Ravens and Bisciotti was a huge turnoff too oddly. Not that I blame the Ravens for how it was handled, but it seems like that was when it became clear that outside political forces were gunning to invade and take the NFL down as we knew it. The CTE thing has really changed the game too. Making you feel guilty to watch a good hit. Then Kapernick, exercising his right to "protest" in the most divisive way possible. This is an observation on my part, but football should/needs to be a politics free zone. The less politics the more enjoyable. The only drama should be the rivalries and great player stories, not this "football is bad", "men are bad", "you need to respect kneeling/not kneeling..." etc. etc.. I would rather not watch if I'm subjected to that. The key is KEEP THE POLITICS OUT OF IT! It's not a platform for global warming, gun control, patriotism.... It's football. Keep it football. Honestly, it is so easy to NOT mess it up.
These are among the reasons for my disinterest, but the biggest reason for me is that it now appears that the steelers will have no competition for the division for (at least) the next several years. It's like living under a Soviet moon (a quote from "The Right Stuff").

Instead of disrespecting the flag and the country it represents,( that allows them to make millions playing a game) maybe they should do something worth a dam if they are so concerned, show me what you are doing off the field to make things better. How much of the millions of dollars you are making are you donating to a cause to help? I am not talking about the NFL 30 second BS commercials,(anti-domestic violence and then draft Mixon in the 2nd round-yea we care). Last weeks steeler game was the first game I did not watch since the move in 96 and won't be watching this week either. Maybe the fousus should be on Blacks killing Blacks as its probably 1000 to 1 verse cops killing blacks, and i agree 1 is to many and the cops should be in jail if it was an unjustified shooting but that doesn't fit the agenda.

The cops never go to jail that's slot of the problem. The black on black crime when caught go to jail. See the difference?

And how does kneeling BEFORE standing for the Anthem disrespect the flag? It's just more nonsense right wing spin to keep you from examining the uncomfortable problem they are trying to shed light on

There's a political forum available here to discuss those topics. This is a football forum. Please keep the two separated. Would rather not have to shut this thread down because a select few can't adhere to that.
    Will Die A Ravens Fan!!

    1. I typically don't watch games that the Ravens aren't playing in. I have to have a passion for a team to watch. The Ravens front office and coaching are so lost that my passion for the team is going away.

    2. Injuries are increasing every year. It is getting to the point where I feel injuries are too significant in determining who has winning seasons and who doesn't. It certainly feels that way in regards to the Ravens recent seasons.

    3. The passing rules are just too subjective. Passing dominates the league, and almost every passing play there are defenders grabbing receivers arms or receivers trying to push off defenders. Sometimes it's called and sometimes it's not. The penalties really slow down the game, and the calls or no-calls can determine the game. I wish the game was more run oriented and the pass defense rules were back the way they were 30 years ago.
That's a good point. I find myself watching games and commenting there's a hold, that's a push off, almost every play. It's the same thing with pass protection too, a penalty could be called just about every play. It definitely tales a lot of enjoyment out of the game for me. There's just too much luck involved.

Well, we do know Kaepernick has given a lot of time to charities, and has personally donated at least $800K out of his own foundation in the last 12 months.

This times 1000. We've been watching the same bullshit since 2000. This offense has been bad for 17 years now...the only time it was fun to watch was when Flacco and Ray Rice were balling from like end of 09 until the Super Bowl game. And even so those times featured a lot of disappointing offensive performances.

I'm with you Smoove....for a while I stopped watching other NFL teams because I was so encapsulated with the Ravens. Man I'm tired of this fucking boring ass product. My best friend's family has season tickets and they take me all the time and don't get me wrong I'm super grateful, but the other game my best friend and I were joking at how boring it is.

I've never really left a game early, like maybe 30 seconds early or some shit, but I've never left early. I stayed until 0:00 for the Redskin's preseason game. Well this past weekend against the Steelers I left early. Him and I were so fed up, and we both live about an hour away from Baltimore so we decided to just hit the road.

The team is boring. Point blank. No stand out great, all pro level players other than a guard.

People will toss a bunch of other reasons, but this has been going on since 2013, so you can't blame the politics, and while we've won low scoring games before, it was still exciting watching this defense, Ray and Ed in particular as those guys along with the other various all pro's we've had...Suggs, Haloti, McAlister in their primes, they made you want and feel like your rooting interest...in the stadium and even on your couch...helped will those defenses into dominating performances and even...gasp...game changing plays defensively. Watching Rex's aggressiveness calling the defense was awesome too.

This team just doesn't have it. It's boring, a couple good, but not all pro level players with mediocre coaching. Put a lot of these Ravens players on other teams, and are there any that would help make watching them play on the Giants, or the Rams, or the Eagles must watch players? And it's been that way ever since Ed and Ray retired and our offense turned into a pumpkin when our best and most exciting offensive player got overweight the first year after the SB punched his GF in a casino elevator and was banished the next...and the fan experience at the stadium as far as engagement and excitement went downhill ever since.
Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

What does football have to do with that? Your supposition itself is obnoxious. What's after that protest? Global warming? CTE? Minimum Salaries for everyone? Gun control? Abortion? States rights?

    You don't get it.
