Pretty good article the offense has been absolutely putrid since Yanda went down

If losing a Guard (even the best Guard in the league) is so much of a blow that your offense can't function without him, then your offense was never any good to begin with, and your team was never going anywhere to begin with.

It sucks, and there's no way the team is as good without him, but every team has significant injuries.

    - the Dolphins lost Ryan Tannehill
    - the Chiefs lost Eric Berry and Tamba Hali
    - the Chargers lost Jason Verrett
    - the Bears lost Cam Meredith
    - the Jags lost Allen Robinson
    - the Panthers lost Greg Olsen
    - the Patriots lost Julian Edelmen
    - the Cardinals lost David Johnson and Mike Iupati
    - the Vikings just lost Dalvin Cook

Each one of these guys was going to be a key component to the team. And the list will be at least twice as long by the end of the season. Coaches have to be able to adapt over the course of a season.

More significant to me is the number of injuries, especially to young players.

Yes and anyone could see that our offense, especially Oline, was already under-par. Ozzie put too many eggs in one (defense) basket and our already inferior offense pays the price of losing one of it's steady members... Bc

    For Baltimore? YES

Losing Yanda after losing every other decent to serviceable guard to injury or retirement?

    Clearly, yes.

Yanda brought a mentality of toughness to the O-Line which seems to be missing since he went down. I just do not see this offense improving this year and 8-8 may be the best record that this team could achieve in 2017.

it's not just losing a guard. you had already lost the other guard and both backups, it's a completely different story.

our receivers don't get any separation even when he was playing. We are not as good with his injury, but other teams with bad lines and injuries still find ways to mount some drives and score. We ran an antiquated scheme with a less than mediocre coordinator.

Yeah - the Ravens are down to their 5th and 6th guards. Crazy
