Keenum should absolutely get paid. He was one of the best QB’s this season. Good for him. Hopefully he can go with Shurmur, because they seem to work well together.

Keenum is going to get paid. Probably around 20m a year. Bortles on the other hand. Not so sure. He may get 15-17m a year without a ton of guarantee by a QB desperate team. He was pretty awful. Even the passes he completed looked awful. If I am the Jags I don't pay him his 5th year option. They should be looking at Smith or Keenum. I would say Cousins but his contract would destroy their cap and make it difficult to keep their defense together. Cousins is probably going to get around 28m a year.

Brees also wants to go out a winner. He might not ask for $30+ million this time and demand to be the highest paid so he can keep the team together. Does he want them to keep Mark Ingram? Making $25 million and keeping Ingram on the team for another shot has a lot of appeal to someone who knows he doesn't have much time left.
