It would be an option similar to what the Ravens did with Wallace only on a big scale. If they pick up the option year #2 its $33 million guaranteed. Year #3 option means $45 million guaranteed. Bell won't see anything close to that next year.

While that may be true, if they tag him again, he'll see it between these two years. I'll also say that I wouldn't trust a team option in those years. At least, make year 2 a player option.

I hated the contract. I am against giving big 2nd contracts to RBs. The risk vs reward is not there. They take a pounding. I was hoping the Steelers would get a long term contract with Bell because most of the time teams regret it when it comes to RBs. I feel like you can get the same if not more production out of a platoon situation at the RB spot. !st and 2nd down guy and a good 3rd down back. I would rather pay the Oline which I think is more important to the running game.

I also feel the same way about traditional ILBs. There is no need to over pay for a 3 down ILB with the league being so pass happy.
