Well THAT's not true. Kubiak & Shanahan were the most run-friendly of all the WCO guys.

    OTAs Started Today

Combo routes into zones would go a long way. Also does anyone teach our WRs scramble drills? Maybe one of the film gurus on here can find some video but I've seen Joe scramble to buy time and the receivers never break off their routes or to much of anything to work back to the qb. Seems they just sit in place and stay covered

Yet again there was plenty of film showing last season that SSsr and Wallace were getting open a hole lot and Joe was continuing to check down to either Pitta or Juice. The Cowboys game was evidence of that.

The comments a pretty funny especially the one about Joe checking down throwing to middle schoolers.

You're right. I miss-stated. WCO is by definition one that employs a number of short pass concepts that spread the field as a precursor of sorts to open lanes for the running game. Marty was supposed to be the one who saw it differently - he basically was a WCO guy but he felt that the run game was what opened up the short passes - he reversed it. He was the run-first WCO guy. I'm not sure the distinction even exists nowadays but for sure, whether he was ever the most run friendly is arguable at best and probably not true, especially compared to Kubes.

This is an area where I am jealous of the Steelers. They always are great in scramble. The Ravens just have always sucked at it. Forever.

By now, the book is out on Pees. Teams know that even if they fall behind, as long as the score is kept close--and sometimes even if it isn't--they can still come back and win in the 4th Qtr, even with less than a minute on their last drive.

We've invested so much capital in building (on paper) an unassailable defense, only to hand those reins to our own General McClellan.

And we now expect great things from him.

What's that old saw about 'choosing to ignore history' again?
This was the OCs comment. wtf does Pees have to do with the OCs philosophy?
