Maybe they should stop drafting "value" players that don't fit the scheme.

How valuable are they if they can't carve a role?

This is my problem with recent picks like jernigan, Correa, etc.

They are taking them without a plan just because they see them at a certain spot that just screams "value", all the while passing on , gulp, playmakers...

I don't think it's about Correa not being fit or a good fit. Correct if I'm wrong but I don't think Boise State runs a pro style defense. If true then Correa was bound to go through some growing pains or trouble adjusting to NFL playbook.

I said Correa played various position in college and I even said Boise State had him cover in space but that does not mean Correa was playing in pro defensive system. That didn't mean Dean Pees or any defensive coordinator playbook at The NFl level wouldn't be a big jump from what he was learning in college.

True, but a high (2nd round) draft choice should be able to contribute something in his rookie season, while still developing. A team only has control for four years. When one is virtually wasted, as was the case with Correa, it's almost like starting back at square 1... Bc

But Pees is married to his scheme, so that's that.

I don't have much faith at all in him becoming a Will LB, and think he'd probably be better suited at Sam. Even then, I see Bowser beating him out and either McClellan or Judon will become the Sam LB. Tim Willliams will take the snaps on 3rd down and Sizzle will either take reps off the field or move inside.

So then he ends up being another redundant, wasted pick on defense.

This is why I harp on this overload on defense philosophy.

We're going to have a prime 2nd Rd pick that could have been used to address other areas not contributing. It's a waste of resources.
