Just pointing out how ridiculous it is for you to say that Perriman can't double his stats going from the #3 or 4 wide receiver to the #1 or 2 guy. Jerry Rice missed TOs entire 2nd season. Doubt he was out there showing TO how to run routes after tearing up his knee during the season opener. TO also did not come into his own and excel until year 5.

So many people on here just assume that young players are not going to progress and are going to be busts. Perriman missed the entire off season last year as did Joe. He was behind at least 2 wrs and maybe 3 if you include Aiken last year. He was only used primarily as a deep threat last year.

I would think everyone would be excited to see what a first rounder who is one of the fastest guys in the NFL can do in his 2nd year playing. Knowing that he is going to have an entire off season and is line for at least double the snaps is exciting.
The fact a lot didn't want to draft him coupled by the way his first season was handled has soured a lot on him. Myself included he goes and in his third year out performs Torrey then I bet you will see a big swing in perception. Anything short of 1,000 yards 5 tds would signal a bust to me

I agree. His injury was also extremely frustrating for fans. Most didn't understand a PCL injury and I think the teams announcements on him cause a lot of confusion and expectation that he'd be back.

He sat on the roster for way too long before being IR'ed.

The bone bruise was a very poor announcement. And then obvioulsy the ACL injury last offseason was just devestating for us to hear. It's frustrating as all hell.

Goode - you're a good one to ask this. Say BP had been drafted in 2016 and had none of the 2015 drama behind him. If he had the exact same performance and production as a rookie - what would you think?

It never did for Terrell Owens. He was well known for the amount of drops he had
Dude are you serious? Trying to use Terrell Owens to compar to Perriman?

The general consensus is that Campy is productive, but can't stay healthy. That certainly fits what I see. No one is that high on him becuase no one thinks he cna stay healthy. But when he does get on the field he makes splash big plays. If that's an apologist then shit you could apply "apologist" to a hell of a lot of point of views. Putting yoruself in a narrow box

Like I said, a whole lot of people saying when he's on the field he's productive, but can't get on the field.

That's certainly what I've seen from him.

Camp apologists apparently. Yet we all mock his injury history lol.

I wonder how many times he's stubbed his toe this week? O/U 4.5?

I'd be a lot higher on him I'm not going to lie. Like I told you I will gladly eat crow. hell if Camp can provide anything I'll take a double helping.

BR.Com: Why Michael Campanaro Believes He's Ready For Breakout Year

And just to add I don't even know if this upcoming year will be a real good test for Perriman. I think the offense is going to be a complete clusterfuck. I think the line is going to be horrible (with what's currently on the roster). I think this 1970s approach to power running is a mistake (shouldn't they switch to air croylle) I think it's going to be 3rd and long all year. I think other teams front sevens will stop the run leaving two deep safties to take away both Wallace and Perriman. I fear it's just another wasted year of a franchise qbs career. I also had hope if I was right we would get a new coach in but I doubt that too. It's going to be a wasted year all around. Probably leading to MM getting fired and pees probably some how a raise.

I respect the hell out of that.

I looked into BP's injury as soon as we found out it was his PCL and all I read was how complicated it was in terms of recovery and the timeline listed was 6-12 months that really emphasizes that. So early on my expectations were tempered.

I think everyone remembers those debates where I was todl I was wrong because I used webMD from googling it and a certain two posters said that it was stupid I was using "google facts" , which of course led to the dancing banana.

BUT all that siad - I guess we'll see. I think the offense is going to be a clusterfuck too and I'm hoping Perriman is a bright spot that can get something going.

During Nembot's Hall of Fame induction ceremony in 2037, we will look back on this post and laugh.
