Sick Days with Kids
Both of mine are home today. They both have ear infections. On top of that, my son has croup and my daughter has pink eye.
This is the first time they've both been home sick. What are some of things you parents do when they're both home sick?

Re: Sick Days with Kids
It's been my experience that when kids are sick, the key is to keep them from being uncomfortable (at least as much as possible). Fever meds etc.
If that can be accomplished, they generally don't have much energy, so it's video time.

Meds are already in play.
And by default, it's been nothing but a movie marathon so far. Seems to be helping.

Not sure of the age of your children, but Pedialyte freezer pops (or homemade Gatorade popsicles for that matter) are a win-win:
1) the kiddos think they're getting a treat
2) you're keeping them hydrated.
As for the ear infection, I swear by this...
Take a cup or two of uncooked rice or coarse sea salt and put it in a white tube sock. Tie a knot in the sock to keep the rice or salt in, and heat it in the microwave for a minute or so, checking the temperature to ensure that it is warm, but not too warm.
Apparently, if you use salt, it helps to draw out moisture in the ear. I don't know if I buy that, but the warmth helps regardless.
Good luck!

Re: Sick Days with Kids
Thanks everyone!
It was actually quite an easy day. Kids were very mellow, drank a ton of water and took massive naps.
