I feel like we're gonna get a good quality corner. Lots of guys hitting FA.

Not crazy at all. It's called 1) smart negotiating, 2) perceptive talent evaluation, and 3) excellent coaching, 4) willingness to make the tough decisions on players. Which of those four do you think we can lay claim to?
Not much really matters, and the rest doesn't matter at all.

What does coaching have to do with the cap?

If you were a player (Chris Long comes to mind) and you had an option of playing for the Browns for several million or the Patriots for league minimum, what would you do?
In his case, he wanted a ring. Some guys want to maximize their earnings regardless of the team but ultimately the lower level clubs will have to pay more to lure talent.

No one else has been able to do it. The Patriots are in the same area in terms of cap space as the 49ers and Browns and we know how few players worth paying are on those teams. It's an incredible job by the Pats. It also means should they want to keep their good players like Hightower they can. I wish we could say the same.

Keep our line healthy and have those three at WR and we wouldn't have to worry about WR for a few years.

That said, Smith may not come cheap.
That gives you three speed guys that are 50/50 to catch balls that hit them in the hands no thank you

A great deal. It allows a team to spend less on what is considered to be a mid-level talent, then coach him up to a higher level. Just look at their WRs.
