Re: 2017 Free Agency
I'd be fine with Mallett returning, but if he wants to go somewhere with more likelihood of playing time, McCown would be a good backup for Flacco. I'd rather pay him the vet minimum, or even a million or two, vs a rookie. The cost savings doesn't justify the risk, plus then you don't have to use a pick on a QB since they need depth at other positions.

Re: 2017 Free Agency
jeffery is a real #1. he might not have a high catch % but he is a guy that defensive coordinators have to scheme for. i watched lots of bears games over the last few years and when healthy jeffery is a stud.
he is also a huge red zone threat. if he wasnt injured i thin he would be getting dez money but i dont think we can still afford him

Re: 2017 Free Agency
Reckon, I won't have much to say in here for the next four weeks, so just carrying over my last thought from the former thread...
Many question marks and needs, but not a lot of projected capital. Certainly, not a lot in relation to other needy teams.
I don't expect anything particularly needle-moving once the league year starts (unless it involves a trade).
Not saying it won't happen, I'm just not expecting it."The Ravens are not taking Jimmy Smith at 26!" -- Me, the day before the 2011 Draft
"On their way to the podium, the Ravens FO is going to collectively step over my dead body and select...Breshad Perriman." -- Me, the day before the 2015 Draft

Re: 2017 Free Agency
Tramon Williams and Sam Shields, those are two blast from the past names.
There are some retreads in that list Wicked, but as you eluded to there is also some meat on the bone."Please take with you this final sword, The Excellector. I am praying that your journey will be guided by the light", Leon Shore

Re: 2017 Free Agency
I think this team can create plenty of cap space without damaging it. Zuttah is addition by subtraction in himself. There is no way they can expect Webb to stay healthy another season. Pitta looks like he's running in mud and can't block for shit. The ONLY reason you even consider keeping Pitta is his rapport with Flacco, but if someone like Graham becomes available? Fuck that.
Wallace very much depends on who else is brought in. For example, would you rather have Wallace and Pitta or Torrey and Graham. Those are the types of decisions you have to make."Please take with you this final sword, The Excellector. I am praying that your journey will be guided by the light", Leon Shore
