I'm all for it but I doubt it passes.

If it is left up to Congress, I agree. They'd basically be voting to make it "harder" (ha!) on themselves.

This is something that should really be a national referendum. Let the people vote on it.

If that were the case, I bet a significant majority of the electorate would vote for term limitations in the House and Senate.

If it can't be done via Congress, the only other way it could be done would be a Constitutional Convention amongst the states. 2/3 of the states would have to agree to the Amendment.

There is no referendum process at the federal level.

The only way congress would pass this is they grandfathered themselves in and said it applies to everyone going forward.

They could spin it as, well we need some experience here to educate all the new comers.
