Re: It's Official -- Ravens Will Play Road Game in London!!!

Already looking at airfare and hotels. I've never been to London. I'm going to see if I can convince my wife to go.

Where would we find actual game tickets? StubHub, or something like that?

Airfare right now looks to be about $500-700 round trip from BWI...not bad.

Wow, this could be good. If Chelsea plays at Stamford Bridge that Saturday I'm going to have to do this road trip.

Can anyone over in London recommend hotels?

I recommend the hub by Premier. Stayed there several times. Walking distance to the underground and in the heart of downtown.

Thanks for the link. I see that there is a rail station a few blocks from Wembley Stadium. Is that station for surface level commuter train (as opposed to the Underground "Tube")? Would you please elaborate on rail & tube service available to Wembley. Also, your comment about stopping service at midnight ... what time would a typical Wembley Stadium game end?
In a 2003 BBC poll that asked Brits to name the "Greatest American Ever", Mr. T came in fourth, behind ML King (3rd), Abe Lincoln (2nd) and Homer Simpson (1st).

I'm a Chelsea fan too, and would definitely recommend it.

Leaning towards the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel on Euston Street.

Ravenblue - know anything about this particular hotel?

Weather was great this year T. I wore a t-shirt to the September (Jags) game and the October games weren't too bad either. But being the UK, you never know - could be 80 or 45 degrees. My advice - wait until 2 days before, check the forecast and pack accordingly!

Tube goes straight to Wembley Park and it's normally one train change from most central London stations. It's a straight shot from Euston and Baker Street and around 20 mins ride - easy.

Game timings are TBA but you wouldn't have trouble unless you spend hours in Wembley area after game, which you wouldn't want to do - most people get tube back to London where you can continue pubbing.

There are literally hundreds and a load of good ones. If booking independently, I'd just search for anywhere between Victoria and Covent Garden (as that's where most of the fun is) and find best room rate after double checking reviews on Trip Advisor. Most hotels allow free cancellation up to 24 or 48 hrs beforehand.
