Sounds like (from comments on Tavon's Twitter) Powers has said all along that he was #36 "for now"...he may have been waiting for a more appropriate time to take Tray Walker's #25 (Powers was #25 for Arizona).

Weird. I'm sure we'll find out tomorrow. Davis and Young have seemingly outplayed him while Powers was out injured.

A few days ago I posted this in the who will be our starting corners thread, before the weird tweet ...
Think their must be some kind of injury. He was a better player than the guy we have seen so far.The thing about Powers that has me wondering is the reports about him playing so well in OTAs ... Then things changed around the start of camp. I just wonder if he has one of those nagging injuries you find out about in February when he goes in for an operation. I did watch him during the Chiefs game and he is a very aggressive slot corner. Not like we have seen in preseason.
