Re: Ot: Ufc 200
Everyone had their own unique style. Now, nobody is a true specialist in one unique style. They may be trained it in, but they aren't nearly as good in that one style. There are guys who are trained in Brazilian Jujitzu, but among other disciplines. However, they don't match the caliber of the Gracies.

If I was Cormier, I would demand more money.

Re: Ot: Ufc 200
It was the main draw for sure. Still curious what exactly he tested positive for and if the B sample gets cleared. The timing of it all just sucks. it doesnt take 4 weeks for a drug test, and if youre going to allow 3 days to appeal, you should have to get that testing back long before the bout.
Im still going to watch the card. theres a lot of good fights, but that was certainly the main draw. Even before Jones I was having issues getting my buddies together for it. Our interest as a group has severely waned in the last few years. from religiously watching every one to now being lucky if we watch 1 or 2 a year with the main draws.
Its a shame if Jones is out 2 years, hes a great fighter to watch. I find it kind of ironic that Jones is being shamed and his name drug through the mud but now Silva is being treated as a hero for stepping up. Silva is only a little off 1 year suspension for PEDs himself. how quickly we forget.-JAB

Re: Ot: Ufc 200
his deal probably didnt change. He was the main card and hes probably getting a good percentage.
Silvas 0-3-1 in his last 4 fights and other better fighters wanted the fight. Im sure he hand picked Silva to be his tomato can, so im not sure why that would warrant more pay. the fact hes not getting pulled off the card altogether is probably a favor to him.-JAB

Re: Ot: Ufc 200
Thats what im saying though, this IS throwing him a bone. If they couldnt scrounge for a fighter last minute, hed be off the card altogether and get no pay day at all. White basically said it was a miracle to get somebody cleared on such short notice. honestly if this card wasnt as stacked as it was, it could have been canceled like 151. that was 8 days out.

So, how did this supposed Best Card in UFC History turn out. Did everyone enjoy seeing Brock Lesnar beat up a 41 year old Mark Hunt? How about Anderson Silva taking a quick payday to get beat up a few rounds?

Re: Ot: Ufc 200
Pretty disappointing for the main card. Some of hte prelim fights were really good. By far the depest card in UFC history, which i'm a huge fan of. Johnny Hendricks got completely out matched. Really liked Aldo, Cain and Moussasi.
Silva looked terrible.
Lesnar's next fight should be Dos Santos, but it'll probably be for the belt and I'll slowly die inside.
UFC is going down hill and last night was another step in that direciton."Cause if you ain’t pissed off for greatness, that just means you’re okay with being mediocre, and ain’t no man in here okay with just basic.”

Which is why they are trying to sell now. The watered down product was enough to get in on the t.v. deals and other perks they wanted all along, which originally helped them buy out Pride. However, now they are dealing with over-exposure, fighters that can't live up to their drug program and Dana White pumping up the wrong people. There were far more skilled female combatants that could have been pushed than Rousey. However, White had this vision for Rousey and once she fell off the hill, they were playing from behind trying to pump up other fighters. Rousey loses the belt, then the belt is lost again within months and is now diminished. Whereas, had White taken a more multi-versed approach instead of the peak and valley approach, this wouldn't be happening.
The same thing happened with Lesnar. He had no business getting a title shot in his third fight, over guys with far more experience who have been doing this for years. It was clear that Couture was looking in the rear-view mirror of his career, but they leap frog other combatants for Brock to take him down. Then you go through this roller coaster with Brock due to his health, on top of the reality that he has no true passion for the sport. He just wants to get paid really. In the UFC and WWE we've seen Brock check out of matches/fights when he loses interest or is about to move on.
It's like the WCW that didn't get bought out and lasted long enough to defeat the WWE (Pride), and now has started fucking the Golden Goose and become a seller's market."Please take with you this final sword, The Excellector. I am praying that your journey will be guided by the light", Leon Shore
