Around the League News - as of July 2016

Usually we have one of these for other teams news reports that don't warrant their own thread.

From ESPN: Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert will have ankle surgery Wednesday and could miss the first couple games of the season, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

The Raiders owner is talking up Las Vegas like it's a done deal. That's usually not the case when a team is moving.

Buffalo is looking to control the flow of information :

I am not sure that Harbaugh would be opposed to this plan, but I do not see how it sticks. First, teams are not surprising other teams with calling plays or setting up formations (unless they have read between the lines and found loopholes). Second, the Press reports stuff out of practices, but that does not mean that fans buy into how things are playing out (at least those with substantive grey matter).

I doubt that the NFL allows them to hold firm on this policy.

#Cowboys OL Ronald Leary wants to be traded. We know one team that could use him:

That'd be a good fit for Freeney on passing downs.

Now that would be awesome. Fans love the Super Bowl in New Orleans. Fun cities make greats hosts for the big game

It's kind of strange that the Cardinals didn't bring back Freeney. He was really good for them down the stretch last year. Why give that up?

Doesn't Jones play more inside? Like the 3-4 DE role?

    Jones is always banged up.

When you have a cheap guy getting you 8 sacks in 11 games it makes sense to keep him.

Tyler Eifer getting ankle surgery that will keep him out until Aug. The injury happened in January and apparently hasn't responded as hoped. Dude's been banged up a lot.
