    Aggressive Offer Made to KO

Apparently the Ravens are interested in keeping KO on as LT.

Hopefully a deal can get done with a little hometown discount.

And hopefully it pans out better than Monroe if it happens.

I posted this in the "player notes and rumors" thread, but seems better suited here:

Super happy about the news with Osemele. Having him and Yanda on long-term deals as franchise pieces makes me feel really good. Osemele is an excellent, excellent lineman - we saw what it looks like having a shitty o-line in 2013. I never want a repeat of that.

Some will say he has injury issues, but as far as I know he dealt with the back his first 2 years, but once fully recovered from the surgery has been ok? 2 years without a missed game right?

How does this work? Can he choose to accept prior to March 9th since he is our UFA?

That's a lot of dough for a guy that's only played LT in the NFL briefly and has a little bit of an injury history. I am not opposed to it at all if they feel his play at LT late last season will translate to an entire season-plus as opponents get more film on him there.

Certainly telling on how they feel about Monroe. Also could be a signal at where they look early in the draft in the event they don't retain KO.

Pretty certain he missed a few games in 2014 b/c I recall Urschell and Hurst both taking over the left side of the line.

And I know he missed a start or two last season due to an ankle injury.

Anybody read some of the stuff at the bottom of that link the OP put up?
There's a couple interesting nuggets in there.

Sounds like Harbaugh is none too pleased with Boyle which we all imagined.
Ozzie already trying to pawn off the #6 pick.
Gilmore having both his shoulders operated on?

Maybe they were having a 2 for 1 special.

so that means they offered him either 8m/year or more than 37.5m total. depending on their definition of highest paid.

thats a lot either way, but im hoping hes got the 2nd most overall and comes in below Yandas 7.9m/year.

what kind of market does monroe even have though? we traded a 4th and 5th when he was "good", im not sure youd get much of anything for him at this point.

Post June 1st and allowing us to split that cap hit, is probably the best we can do.

I would think you could get a 4th OR a 5th for him at this point don't you? Not both anymore. But getting something is better than nothing, and better from a cap perspective. He has played fairly well when healthy. Better than other starting LTs in the league I would think.

I think some team like Chicago or Green Bay might be interested for a 6th.
