I'm sure everyone already saw it today, but Megatron informed the Lions that he plans to retire and will not be part of the team in 2016.

Huge loss for them.

Wonder what that does to their salary cap. He didn't sign that long ago and I can't imagine how much got pushed back as bonuses and what not

They have to cut him before the start of the league year or he counts 24 mill against their cap.

That is a huge loss, but somewhat expected. Guess we won't be seeing him in the purple and black next year, as much of a long shot as that was.

I honestly think that Woods would be a much better WR if he was on a passing team.

Wonder how Stafford will respond to that. He's traditionally struggled without Megatron and now Megatron is going to hang it up.

Have to believe seeing Patrick Willis make the decision to retire at a young age gave Calvin Johnson peace with his decision.

Good point. He had a ton of potential coming out of USC, and it seems like they never tapped into it in Buffalo.
