SSSr gone, what are our options at WR going forward?
Sorry for any ignorance or rookie knowledge, but is there anyone in FA or who we could get via a trade as cover for Steve Smith.
I know we have Perriman, Aikin, Brown, Campanaro, Waller, Butler & Ross on the books. However, realistically the loss of SSSr is catastrophic. Are we in a position to bring a vet in?
Edit, I've assumed Perriman is done for the season...

Re: SSSr gone, what are our options at WR going forward?
We don't even have Camp and Waller any more as they are both on IR. At this point we have to roll with what we got. Aiken and Givens flash but are inconsistent. Ross also flashes and might be the most "explosive" player we have now. We also 3 young TE's that have flashed. We need to find ways to get those guys more involved in the passing game. Juice is another option. And of course Forsett and Allen. A cherry on top would be Perriman coming back.
We don't have any knowns to lean on. We have a bunch of players with potential. We are not making the playoffs and we are not getting a significant upgrade next year, might as well see what those guys can do.

I doubt they make any moves. Not really any need to. Nobody in FA is better than who they already have on the roster IMO, and giving up future considerations for a player when you are 2-6 seems like a poor choice.
Just roll with Aiken, Givens, and Ross for now. Maybe you get Pitta back and he can play some role.

You're looking at the options. So many players went out today. There just aren't any decent replacements left. I guess you could sign Wes Welker but that's probably the only guy most have heard of

Sucks that Sr. had to gout that way. The dude deserves better. He busted into the top ten of all time today. Wish we could have had him here when Joe got here. They would have done some ballin'.
As for options? LOL!"I don't know a man on this Earth who can outwork me". Ray Lewis

More game planning for TE's to provide some safe options for Flacco

Betting this opens the door for Pitta, assuming he wants to get back out there. I think they want Joe to have at least someone he trusts, since I'm not sure he really has much for anyone other than Steve Smith this year. He seems to have some in Aiken, Boyle, and Gillmore, and Givens is growing, but he still doesn't have that go to guy in tough situations. Enter Pitta. Perfect time to get him back on the field if he wants to play.

Aiken, Givens, Ross and Butler. Hope Perriman comes back. There you go.
