Re: RIP Frank Gifford
Oh man. Very sad. His voice was the football soundtrack of my youth.

Re: RIP Frank Gifford
84 yrs old, 8 years older than Dandy Don who he teamed up with in 1971 replacing Keith Jackson
He and Don worked together 11 years (not in a row Alex Karas was there for 2)
1971 to 1997 on MNF, definitely a voice most of us knew and liked
RIPat one point of my life I was exactly Pi years old

Re: RIP Frank Gifford
Giiford was a Pro Bowler on offense and defense. He was also the league MVP and a Hall of Famer. As a football player there are few who did as much as Frank Gifford. RIP

Re: RIP Frank Gifford
Equally accomplished as a player and a broadcaster. HOF as both. One of the original golden boys of football.

Re: RIP Frank Gifford
Will always remember Gifford as the serious member of the MNF trio, calling the games amidst the banter of Cosell and Meredith. And it all somehow worked. Terrific player and broadcaster.

Re: RIP Frank Gifford
That's the last of that great announcing team. I guess we can turn out the lights. The party is truly over.

Re: RIP Frank Gifford
The voice of MNF football along with Howard Cossell. Can still vividly remember their voices. Used to get amped up every Monday night.

Re: RIP Frank Gifford
Back in those days MNF was the only prime time game. It was a big deal and he was very good at his job. RIP

Re: RIP Frank Gifford
Man, age has caught up with a lot of great guys. We now can add Gifford to the long list of people who left their mark on us. Those evenings were great with the banter between those 3 guys and what was happening on the field. We were privileged as fans back then to watch the people who helped put football were it is today.
