ESPN says Texans and Ravens are best fit for Wes Welker

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/insider/story...wes-welker-nfl

With the Patriots a distant third.

Baltimore Ravens: Slot receiver Michael Campanaro is dealing with a slight tear in his hamstring that will keep him out of action until training camp. The Ravens are currently carrying 11 receivers on their roster, but five are rookies. Welker would bring veteran experience and an at or near the line of scrimmage receiver presence to the group.
How would you feel about bringing Welker in?

That's no different that ESPN saying the Bills were interested in Ray Rice. No basis at all.

Welker is done. Brandon Stokley is a more likely option at this point.

Just say no. He's old, injury-prone, and drops way too many passes in big spots. I'd much rather let guys like Brown, Aiken, Carter, etc. compete for the back-up spots.

No thanks. Besides, we haven't forgotten his wife's ugly comments about Ray Lewis after we beat them in the playoffs.

He would've been a fit two years ago.

ESPN doesn't say it. Some talking head named Field Yates (who?) says it.

And he's high as a kite. Welker is a walking concussion machine. He will be eating apple sauce and shitting himself in five years.

Baring injury, I don't see us tinkering at WR anymore.

Ignoring the fact that his continued play in the NFL would result in serious brain damage in the next 10-15 years, I don't think you can count on him to play 16 games and as such I'd say no thanks. They already have one apparently injury prone slot receiver, they don't need to add another.

    Can he play man coverage?

What she said about Ray Lewis, and what she said about Torrey's brother IIRC would be two reasons for Welker to never want to step foot in Charm City again. Soon he'll be retired, and nobody will care to listen to his foul wife's opinions again.

We will likely be playing two TE sets frequently due to our young, talent at that position, and that's not counting Pitta coming back. With SS Sr. and Perriman along with M.Brown, Aiken, and Waller, plus the possibility of Campy being healthy... where are we going to fit Welker in? ... Bc

No thanks. He's just too injury prone. Plus, I wouldn't want to see the guy get another concussion. Those things add up. I think it is time for him to hang up his cleats.
