Chiefs' Alex Smith out with lacerated spleen vs. Bolts

Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith will not play Sunday against the Chargers due to a lacerated spleen, according to a team trainer Rick Burkholder.

Chase Daniel will start under center.

Around The NFL will soon have more.

We lost last week to Case Keenum. I'm just saying, this isn't impossible.

At least they don't know Daniel inside out. He might surprise us. Hope Smith is ok.

From what I remember Chase Daniel is a nice little player who plays similarly to Alex Smith: not a great arm, but accurate in short throws, fairly mobile.

Hopefully he'll be pumped to put his talents on display. He basically beat the Chargers last year in week 17 with backups even the SD was trying to win and make the playoffs, at least this time he'll have starters around him.

Rivers won't shit the bed like Flacco.

It's not like KC asks much from smith as a quarterback anyway.

Rob Long reported this a little while ago... I just had to laugh! Hmmm, could this be the first game that a KC WR catches a TD pass??

Ever heard the term "team game"? And Rivers has shit the bed multiple times this season. A couple weeks ago he threw 0 td and 3 ints in a 37 to 0 loss to Miami.
