Hub Arkush's Pro Football Now Preview 2014 (post #20)

Looks like the former publisher of Pro Football Weekly was still able to publish an NFL Annual and Fantasy Football annual this year.

    Nfc East: Philadelphia:10-6
    Nfc North: Green Bay: 11-5
    Nfc South: New Orleans:10-6
    Nfc West: Seattle:11-5
Nfc Wild Cards: San Francsico: 11-5, Chicago: 9-7
    NFCChampion: 49ers

    Afc East: New England:11-5
    Afc North: Baltimore: 9-7
    Afc South: Indianapolis: 9-7
    Afc West: Denver: 12-4
Nfc Wild Cards: Bengals: 9-7, Chargers: 9-7
    AFC Champion: Broncos

    Superbowl 49: Broncos over 49ers
That's 5 for 5 predicting a playoff berth, and 3 of them predicting that our team wins the division.

I believe that, barring major injuries, this should be a 10-6 to 11-5 year, division champ, and go deep into the playoffs with a nucleus of playoff tested players. The major reason for the jump from 8-8 will be a "first" for the Ravens: adding a bona fide offensive coordinator.
In a 2003 BBC poll that asked Brits to name the "Greatest American Ever", Mr. T came in fourth, behind ML King (3rd), Abe Lincoln (2nd) and Homer Simpson (1st).

I don't see anything that looks crazy but I also don't see the Colts getting to the SB this year either.

    Re: Predictions from national publications

The Sporting News prediction is really interesting...as much as I hate the Steelers and Bengals, it would be really cool to see three AFCN teams in the playoffs.

I think 10-6 or 11-5 is right on the money as well. A defense that was average to slightly above average last season got a big upgrade through the draft, and the offense has nowhere to go but up after last season. Getting Zuttah and a healthy Osemele, along with a full season of Monroe should significantly improve the offense, especially if Kubiak's new offense is as advertised.

The Colts aren't making it to the Super Bowl. New England and Denver are still the two best teams in the AFC and I don't think Indianapolis made any strides to catch up with them.

    Re: Predictions from national publications

I looked at the Ravens schedule and it is easier than last year IMO, but still challenging.

The problem is the Ravens lost games they should've won last year, so it is hard to really gauge right now. They could drop bombs on Pittsburgh one week and then go out and lay a dud in Miami or something.

Out of conference play this year is the NFC South and the only team there that I think could give us fits is the Saints because Brees is, well, Brees.

If we can manage 2-2 or 3-1 in the out of conference games, I think 10 or more wins is very realistic.

Don't get all the love for the Eagles. I say they take a step back this year.

Me too. I wonder how different that offense is going to be without the fear of DeSean Jackson? I can't envision one defense that isn't happier to face the Eagles without him.

The Eagles still have a lot of talented guys. No sure-fire #1s, but a team filled with #2s can still get the job done.
