That's one receiver off the market

According to NFL.com the 49ers are in contract talks with Anquan Boldin.

I don't think there was any chance of him returning to Baltimore so I'm happy for him if he gets a big payday.

Talks don't mean there is an agreement. We all know that Boldin always is very sensitive about his value. That's why he refused to take a pay cut here. If the 49ers don't meet Boldin's demands he's not going to sign.

I think this was a given. Boldin doesnt want to move on to another team this late in his career. The thing ive yet to see is his demands and if the 49ers can/want to meet them. I dont see anything here saying hes "off" the market quite yet.

Boldin is a special receiver, but I think he'll only have 1 SB ring for his time in the NFL. That divison now has enough film to watch, to see how to play Boldin. Unless gore or some other RB can establish a running game, CK will not be the one to carry the team. Maybe if Jim Harbaugh can pull his ass out of his head on game winning drives, then the 9ers win the SB.

As a player all you can ask for is to get paid and be on a competitive team as many years as possible. No one knows which teams are going to win a Super Bowl but the 49ers are at least in the hunt and if they stay healthy have a good chance of staying there this season. That's not a bad deal for an older player.

There's really nothing to see here IMO. It was never a realistic possibility for him to come back, and even if it was, I'd prefer someone younger.

True story. Too much nastalgia towards our old players. Cant over pay for the past
