At least the Lions fans seem to be happy with the Caldwell hire.

"we're not even talking about scraping the bottom of the barrel...we turned that barrel over and scraped the sh*t off from underneath it!"

Eagles QB coach Bill Lazor has been hired as OC for the Lions, per Ed Werder.

Great hire, as well as, Austin as DC.

Browns want to interview unavailable Adam Gase OC of Denver, my guess is that Mike Munchak is their fallback

I don't think they will releast Norv Turner until a decision is make on HC to see if he wants Norv or doesn't want him.
Both Munchak and Gase have OC in their blood, so either will be pretty particular about the O philosopy.
Either Norv will mesh (subordinate) to theirs or he is gone.... if he is a fit, they keep him....
either way it looks like we wait until Gase is free to interview if we want to talk to Norv.

There is also the story of Norv speaking up about Chudzinski firing
    http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/10...rob-chudzinski
So this may be Haslem/Banner sticking it back at him
Offensive coordinator Norv Turner spoke up when Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam and CEO Joe Banner talked to the coaching staff Monday about the firing of coach Rob Chudzinski, according to sources familiar with the situation.

Whether it was a challenge or a calm question seems a matter of interpretation. Two sources said Turner was angry and spoke that way

Maybe Caldwell liked how Lazor worked with Nick Foles?

Thinking about the Browns Head coaching job reminds me of a quote from "The French connection" Popeye Doyle said it...

"I'd rather be a lamppost in New York than President of France."
"I'd rather be unemployed than Head Coach of the Cleveland Browns"

    ... Bc

    Good one.

It also doesnt help that candidates are reported to be calling Chud to get the scoop.

Since Caldwell to the Lions is a done deal, I'm going to close this thread.
