Thread: Arthur Brown?
-
Anyone know his current health status and whether he'll play this week? I'd really like to see him get the start, to see what he could do. Josh Bynes hasn't been that effective, and the thought of having two super athletic LBs behind this monster Dline brings in thoughts of 2000.

Re: Arthur Brown?
We'll see if he practices, but early reports were it was only a strain of the pectoral. I predict he'll be starting next to Smith soon. You're right on Bynes.

Re: Arthur Brown?
I'm sure the coaches want to upgrade the position. Bynes just isn't up to level of where players need to be to start on this defense. If Brown was ready he would have won that job. With the injury I think it's going to be a little while longer before he proves in practice that he is ready to take over.

Re: Arthur Brown?
It really depends on the severity of the strained pectoral. I'd imagine that he would be ok to play this weekend. He probably won't start though and I doubt he plays a lot unless he is 100% or needed (i.e. Bynes or Smith get hurt).

Re: Arthur Brown?
He went through walk-throughs the day after his injury so it may not be that serious. It'd be awesome to get him and Brandon Williams back this week.

Re: Arthur Brown?
When he is fully fit just throw him in like they've had to do with Elam. Yes it's all well and good letting rookies sit back and watch and learn, but the best way to learn is on the job. He and Elam both will make silly errors because of rookie in experience, but come the playoffs and next season they will have learnt from them enough to minimise those errors.
I didn't think its a coincidence that now jimmy smith is seeing regular playing time we are seeing his play improve week by week. Kids need to play, throw him in, he will make plays, he will makes errors, but come playoff time, he will be an asset because of the playing time he's seen up to then.
That would be my take on high draft picks, if the talent is there, put them and let them learn.

Re: Arthur Brown?
He's been getting injured since before he got here which is why
he dropped. He was a top 5 line backer. Then he got a chest
hernia in mini camp and now this injury.
He's always injured. See link.

Re: Arthur Brown?
Brown was a consistent force for the Wildcats. In 2012, Brown recorded 100 tackles, one sack, two interceptions and a touchdown. He was as good or better in 2011. As a junior, he recorded 101 tackles, two sacks and an interception.Disclaimer: The content posted is of my own opinion.

Re: Arthur Brown?
I don't think Brown has missed a game in college. He didn't play in 2010 after transferring to Kansas State from Miami.

PAINT:
Fact is, he missed the combines because of a shoulder injury that dropped him in the
draft and he's been injured here in camp and now missing Sun and probably this
Sun too. I call that always being injured.
Dems the facts.Last edited by AirFlacco; 09-25-2013 at 12:20 PM.
