Virulent Racism in the Republican Party

Interesting article that plainly states some ugly truths.

"Republicans aren’t all racist. But the party actively cultivates racists as voters."

It does this with coded words to Republican voters (e.g., "welfare," "handouts," etc.) and by following in the footsteps of elected Republican officials, who seem to get caught with racist emails/remarks on an almost monthly basis.

Re: Virulent Racism in the Republican Party

The racism is in the assumption that those words are racist, thus making the person who assumes that the racist.

    LOL ... Slate ...

You've committed quite the fallacy AKA.

Fallacy of composition is quite common from zealots from both sides of the political fence.

The very first words I posted from the article were "Republicans aren't all racist."

It's not racist to assume someone's words are racist. It may be wrong, but it's not racist.

And did you actually read the article? Why is it wrong to presume it's racist when someone says a black woman should be photographed by National Geographic or that her black husband taught people how to chuck spears? How is the screen name "n1ggerkiller" not racist?

In the Republican party? So racism has not been demonstrated to be in the Republican party?

Can someone e-mail me my code-word decoder list...damn, I lost my other list.

Check that...just send me a link to the English language dictionary: http://frontpagemag.com/2012/dgreenf...ist-code-word/

The entire English language was created by slaveowners as a means of oppression. You can’t just say that one word is a racist code word or another. The whole language, every single word, letter and apostrophe in it is racist. It’s a fact. If you speak English, you’re a racist.”

It's inside the latest edition of "Intolerance Monthly", sent automatically to anyone without (D) after their name. Apparently.

    Your sarcasm is unfunny.

If you're saying that the Republican party does not use words like "welfare" to stand in for certain demographics, you're not just wrong. You may also be in denial.
