Chad Johnson butt slap in court

Did anyone else see this? He slapped his lawyer on the ass in court saying good job then the judge got pissed off and changed her sentence and have him 30 days behind bars.
    I'm in tears laughing.

I just watched that. It seemed harsh, but that judge doesn't allow any clowning around in her court room. Chad is a jokester, this backfired on him.

Just a reminder, no curse words in thread titles.

    Thanks everyone!

it just reminds me of a story I saw when I was still in my teens (but just barely) about a kid who had gotten pulled over for speeding, and as the police officer walked away, he got pissed and cursed loudly.

When it came time for the court appearance, the judge was ready to give him PBJ and court costs and he's thinking "AWESOME!", but when the officer was asked if he had anything to add, he had in his notepad that he had heard the young man curse as he was walking away. Without any discussion, the judge changed the decision to maximum points and fine.

Was it a bit much, maybe...but you need to carry yourself professionally when dealing with the law.

I think that's absolute crap. The punishment you get for traffic violations/speeding should be based on your traffic violations/speeding, not on whether you chose to swear while living in America. The kid in your story didn't even swear AT the officer. How can you be punished for that?

Hilarious, but that judge seriously needs to chill. That was barely anything, definitely not worth a month in jail

It's a shame that he has to spend a month in jail for it, but it's a lesson hard-earned...the defendant's box is no place for clowning around / grab-ass.

The month in jail was the original sentence. The hearing was submitting a plea deal, which the judge decided not to accept after that happened.

It's not as if she said "For slapping your lawyer's butt, you will serve 30 days in a prison". That's essentially what it was, but it's not as if she made up that number or punishment.

    Things change at probation hearings.

You've already screwed up and you're at the good graces of the court.

He abused it and is paying the price. Lesson learned.

I did. You just can't make stuff like that up...

It was funny, but Chad isn't about to change. It will take about 2 days before they want to throw him out of jail for running his mouth constantly.
