Re: WRs the Ravens could trade for

I just dont see them adding a WR. I think they use Thompson/Doss/Reed as WR's each brings a different skillset. I see them using Pitta in the slot with Dickson, Juice and look for Furstenburg to make it, very fast for his size and a solid player. He reminds me Wychek. Furstenburg isnt huge, but fastest of the TE's at he combine and was good in college with NO QB play. I was surprised Furstenburg wasnt drafted. 6'3+ at 240lbs at 4.6 speed is pretty impressive. I thought for sure the Skins were going to take him. I like Matt better than any of our picks from round 5-7.

Let him stick as the situational #3/#4 who comes in to stretch the field opposite Torrey in certain packages. He'll probably never be as good in that role again as he was last year, frankly, and he certainly won't be the starting X receiver next year.

So who will be? Not Doss--based on what we saw last year he is simply too soft to tolerate contact off the line and at the point of the catch. The Ravens seemed to know that and frequently threw him jump balls hoping he'd draw PIs. It didn't work. Aaron Mellette didn't show anything on the tape I saw to suggest he's any different.

So you're left with Laquan, Reed, Thompson, and Streeter. For different reasons, I just don't see how any of those 4 are capable of handling starting WR duties. Forgive me, but out of every spot on the roster (even LT), I feel worst about the starting WR spot opposite Torrey.
its pretty obvious this is the complete opposite feeling of the coaching staff and FO. even if we bring in a vet at this point, were still going to be relying heavily on those players mentioned.

"Oakland Raiders head coach Dennis Allen confirmed in his post-game presser that WR Denarius Moore was benched in the Browns game for dropped balls: "Dropped a couple balls, and we got to make plays when you've got opportunities...It wasn't from a lack of effort, but we've got to make plays when we've got an opportunity."

I think they really like Streater and Criner, so they may view him as expendable. Plus they should be getting Jacoby Ford back.
Denarius Moore is a beast, but I think our FO and Coaching Staff made a huge statement by drafting the guys that they drafted. All high character, hard working, team oriented guys.

You can't inspire much of anything until you get your chance on the field. Boldin had to be given his first opportunity before he became the WR he is. Who was going to see the field with him on the team?

On top of that, last year, I think he felt he had something to prove. With a ring, an all-Pro selection, and one of the most memorable plays in NFL history in his lock box, is he going to work as hard this OS as he (apparently) did last OS? Where is his mind going to be? I might be overstating and overthinking things here, but I have more confidence that Doss, Streeter or Thompson will step up and make a strong challenge for the #3 than JJ12 being a reliable asset on offense.
You can take all those things and say them about flacco minus the all pro but add a super Bowl mvp and a big fat contract to it. By your logic we should probably start looking for another qb. Makes no sense. There's nothing to indicate that jj is gonna call it a career just because of what he accomplished this year. I'm sure he wants to improve and be the best he can be.

A player who may be moved is Kenny Britt. I believe he's in the final year of his contract. The Titans have drafted receivers high the last two years. The Ravens for whatever reason sign people who play well against them. He killed the Ravens week 2, 2011. He comes with way too much baggage but he may be an option.

There won't be any WR trades this year. The Ravens are prepared to go with the youth movement. Torrey Smith's development showed them that, with a stable and high quality QB in place, they can't be afraid to give youth an early chance.

Unless you know who decides he wants to come on board.

PHI Jeremy Maclin: doesn't fit Kelly's offense. Even though PHI is loaded at TE, we could try to trade them Ed Dickson and a pick, maybe Kelly would want to be reunited. 2014 Free Agent.

OAK Denarius Moore: OAK in complete rebuild mode. Moore in back end of his rookie deal. Once again, trade them Ed Dickson and picks. They need picks. Or one of our young WRs.

All 3 have had various injury issues.

Feel free to list your own targets.
Trading Dickson is not an option, you just add another problem, one injury to Pitta and Flacco hates you.
