What would be your reaction if we take Teo and #32?

I'm sure there would be a wide range of reactions. What would yours be?

Personally I am not convinced he (T'eo) is a 3 down ILB which means IMO he does not warrant a 1st round pick.
Would be disappointed but not horrified.

If Ozzie picks him, I trust Ozzie. Thus, I'll be slightly excited.

That said, I think all the top 4 ILBs have their knocks. Not like if we took Minter, everyone would be able to do the Squirrel Dance. Not like if we took Ogletree, suddenly his name would change to "Ray Lewis v2"

I voted for horrified but for a far different reason than everyone thinks.

No matter who the Ravens select, I always boo, cuss, throw things, and in general act like our FO can never do anything right. And every time those guys wind up being pro-bowlers for the next 10 years. It's only silly if it doesn't work.

For me, I would be indifferent. However, that is assuming that Arthur Brown, Kevin Minter, and Alec Ogletree are off the board, which I cannot see happening.

I think Te'o is a good player and honestly I think most on here are far to quick to judge him for the whole "catfish" debacle.

If I had to pro-con Manti Te'o I think it would end up looking like this (based on what I have seen when watching Notre Dame play):

    Pro
    - 4 year starter after being one of the most coveted high school recruits in the past 10-20 years.
    - Team Captain.
    - Continued to improve each season at Notre Dame.
    - Solid football intelligence.
    - Fundamental player.
    - Ideal ILB size (6'2" 245-250lbs).
    - No history with drugs, DUIs, arrests, fights, etc.

    Con:
    - Seemed distracted during the Alabama game and really didn't play well at all.
    - Below average performance at the combine after having more than a month to prepare. Blamed it on lack of sleep/distractions.
    - Bites on play action and got beat over the top from time to time.
    - Media baggage/distractions.
    - Lacks that lateral explosiveness/fluidity.
    - Below average blitzer.
    - Unsure if he is a better fit as a 3-4 ILB or a 4-3 Mike/Sam.

When you look at it that way, I think the big thing to really pay attention to is the word "distraction". Is he going to be distracted in the NFL? Because the media is going to be all over him for a while. Furthermore, they're going to be all over that team too and they are going to be looking to get some dumbass in the locker room to say something stupid to cause controversy. Is that going to distract him? Is he going to be distracted during training camp because he is tired?

Those are my concerns with him and honestly, those concerns are more about him as a person than as a player. As a player, the Ravens could do a lot worse.

I picked indifferent but he's a 2nd round pick IMO.

If Oz says so then I'll be happy.

I wanted to pick 'Horrified'. However, at the end of the day, the young man can play. He just won't represent the coverage upgrade at ILB that posters have wanted, for years now.

If you put him behind this defensive line, he will rack up tackles. There's no doubt about that.

It be a reach, but it's not like he can't play. He's still pretty good. I'd be disappointed though because there is guaranteed to be at least one player I'd rather have.

    That's actually not really accurate.

He was one of the better ILBs in coverage last year.

Some other team will have swiped him up well before #32.
