    Re-signing Question

I know this will probably be moved but not sure where to exactly post this. Do we save any money if we cut a player and resign them for cheaper?

    Re: Resigning Question

It depends on how much dead money is left from when they are released but most of the time the answer is yes.

Only explanation I can think of for some of these releases.

Usually they ask a player to take a pay cut and then release him if he refuses. That way you aren't exposing the player to the market where anyone can sign him. If he refuses then he'll see what he can get and maybe resign for less but you never know.

Trevor Pryce is a good example of that. The Ravens cut him and said they would bring him back in a week. He wasn't interested in waiting and signed with the Jets.
