When is the last time a DB had to bench press a player on the field?

We'll see...depending on his interviews...and I hope we do bring him in at some point to really talk to him, I'd take a shot with one of our mid-late comp picks if he's there.
Lol...yea he get's after it, if his heads on straight i think at the least he's an upper echelon nickel back and dynamic return guy

Considering that he is about 5'8 and 185 lbs with over 31" arms, it's not that surprising.

The Honey Badger, looks good in all the drills, real good.

I would love to draft him, but I think someone takes a chance before we do.

Actually it is. There were 3 other guys with similiar builds who benched at least 10 reps. Can't recall the names right now but I read it somewhere on profootballtalk

I don't think he's an Ozzie kind of player. I do think he's going to be a very good NFL player. Some team is going to get him in the 4th round and end up with a playmaking starter. I kind of hope it's the Cardinals because Mathieu and Patrick Peterson are a great combination.

31 inch arms seem pretty long for that height though. Maybe I am wrong.

It's clear though that he's been working out. Fast, agile, great center of gravity and passes the eye test too.

I would hope if he's available in the 4th we jump all over him... but you may be right. I do think he will be a starter in the NFL for sure.

He does have long arms. I have 30 inch arms @ 5'10".

He clearly showed he is a much better athlete than so many people were making him out to be.

I've been a fan for the last 2 years, but I recognize the off field issues. It wouldn't surprise me if he isn't even on our board at all...in fact, I'd expect us to have took him off....that's usually how Ozzie and John roll with not wanting knuckleheads. He seems contrite and sounds like he realizes how much he has thrown away...but it has been a short period of time. I liked how he said he would be proactive and hire someone to help chaperone him for a while.

But I think if he stays off the weed, and goes to a team with a DC who uses him as a "roving" CB/S, I think he will be a very, very good player.
Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.
