Ranking teams like the Steelers and Cowboys ahead of the Ravens is what gets readers to tune in. It's controversy, which gets people talking, and gets people reading more articles, seeing more advertisements in those articles and watching more CBS games and watching THEIR commercials too. It's a money machine. None of it means a fucking thing. Power polls are about as useless to football fans as horny women are to Richard Simmons.
